Covaxxes shredded the fabric of public trust in inoculations of all kinds. Naomi Klein threads a fine needle stitching up the limited hangout on errors made around covid lockdowns and vaxxes in her book Doppelganger. She exhibits the psychological terrain of “elite progressive” bloomers. Her patterns are currently being fitted for bespoke literati. Designed to dress the Emperor.
Klein originally scoffed at the “baseless claims of bioweapons and lab leak theory as antiAsian racism. As more facts and documents piled up that supported a serious consideration for the lab leak theory, liberals and leftists refused to look at them, because they didn’t want to be like Trump, RFK, Bannon”, most definitely not like her “doppelganger” Naomi Wolf, banned from Dress Left clubs.
Klein admits that “questions about safety of brand new vaccines were legitimate, especially for pregnant women and those ready to become gravid. Calling them nutty, doesn’t shut down doubts.” It was “perfectly reasonable to worry, but could have been assuaged with the right tone, right authority”, right tie.
Mistakes were made due to novelty supply chains and denuded health agencies. Government “should have called on medical experts in fertility and pregnancy to explain vaccine research methods, and special vulnerabilities of fetus and pregnant mothers to covid”, that “immune systems are weakened.”
She’d be swapping her enclothed cognition as the author of Shock Doctrine, exposing trends for “ideas lying around to become rampant” during a mass social trauma, to not be alarmed by “Big Pharma and Big Government, acting in coordination.” Yet, Klein did not scissor outside of NPR’s vaxx faxx, while obsessively monitoring Steve Bannon, Naomi Wolf, and Wellness Mamas for fashion faux pas.
She was definitely not doing her own research about covaxx hazards. She regrets that “do their own research” was “laughed at, scorned as a catchword for people without medical degrees, not capable of expertise to interpret trial data” wading through the waste bins of science. Not because dozens of world renowned experts were explaining the tapestry of risks and nul benefits, with thousands of Free Press health reporters sewing fringes on their plain brown wrappers. Only because the deplorable people insult drove them into the arms of “attention economy hustlers [posing as] fearless medical investigators.”
Wolf and her sweatshop seamstresses were whipping out cheap knockoffs with “unverified claims of injuries and deaths from vaccines.” Puffed up Leg-of-Mutton sleeves filled with conspiracy theories on “Big Pharma/ Big Government colluding to wage war on healthy bodies.” She panned Plandemic, a “pseudoscientific documentary”, claiming the antivaxxer’s “grift goes back to the original paper by Wakefield”, copying the corporate apparel style he’s been saddled with.
Tuning into NPR, she learned that teenage boys do suffer “rare cases of heart inflammation”, with a “small uptick in strokes among seniors” after those were “flagged by the CDC in early 2023.” She doesn’t question the advisability of mandating and approving covaxxes for children with infinitesimal dangers from the disease.
There are “risks to every vaccine, any medical procedure or medication. Harmful reactions in no way negate the value or importance of getting vaccinated. Covid is a far more significant health risk for the population at large.” Certainly not for the population in petite sizes.
There’s a long lag time from writing to publishing books, but this remains the stance of “public health” authorities and their elite progressive apologists, while the public dissents by deserting. She blames this loss of trust in mainstream reporting on self censoring, because “many media outlets gripped by the fear that anything more than a passing report on possible risks, would damage vaccine uptakes and provide fodder for the conspiracy crowd. The opposite turned out, without easy access to reliable, in-depth information about vaccine risks, rumors about people falling ill or dropping dead coursed through the digital grapevine.”
The Progressive magazine chose one quarter (July-October 2021) in a three year pandemic to blame Governor Rick DeSantis for killing twice as many Floridians as the rest of the country, because he “opposed Mandatory Vaccinations and reopened the restaurants, bars and schools.” This scandalous shorts was on Oct./November 2023’s No Comment page, (when Ron was still running for Republican President).
Even the New Yorker Radio Hour had admitted by then that Florida was in a dead heat with California for hospitalizations and deaths from covid over the distance. Better than New York but. not great, when the U.S. was dead last in survivor rates around the globe. Left Leaders aren’t color coordinating in their FallBack Fashion for the blind who will not see.
When NPR’s book show featured Turtles All the Way Down last week, the show I’d heard Naomi Klein interviewed about Doppelganger in 2023, seemed hemlines had been lifted. Because the authors are anonymous physicians who stripped bare vaccines and germ theory dogma. Turned out their Turtles Doppelganger is a Young Adult novel featuring an obsessive, germphobic teenager.
Klein does regret “the many debates we didn’t have.” Swimming against “the torrent of lies from the right, liberals and progressives defended the status quo, but should have demanded far more” from government. They “didn’t invest in outdoor education recreation, instead closing down parks,” that could have “pried people away from their screens.”
The “toll of online learning” clothed those with “developmental disabilities and poor” least. More funding for “meaningful work like contact tracing” should have been offered. Not that lockdowns and social distancing were hazardous couture, like Medea’s Cloak.
She was disgusted by dissidents wearing camel toe tights to flaunt their ignorant freedom over the “well being of the immuno-compromised by disregarding or disobeying public health measures. Their refusal to put others ahead of their own convenience, caused huge sacrifices made by health care workers as unvaccinated people filled up the COVID wards.” Pandemic of the Unvaxxed is reversible style.
Nevertheless, she was “appalled by the callousness” of critics who “jeered about how they didn’t deserve health care, rid the world of stupid people.” Keeping “shopping malls open, while schools and churches were closed. Strip clubs and casinos were declared essential, as small business were shuttered.” clashed with the austerity image.
Those who cheered these safety measures then, are not walking the runway of progressive shows with masks on now, but they have not changed their stripes, even as plaids predominate on the commons.
