It is easy to see patterns in a House of Mirrors, but the Doppelgangers of Naomi Klein keep splattering against my windscreen like lightning bugs of yore. A virtual double, Anna North, wrote an opinion piece for Vox, “where she covers American family life. Previously, she was an editor and writer at the New York Times. She is also the author of three novels, including the New York Times bestseller Outlawed.”
What was childhood like before vaccines? she asked a series of experts on childhood history and infectious disease, who uniformly described horrendous mortality rates among young and old, but primarily of infants. Grief and sadness was parents lot.
Steven Mintz, a history professor at UT Austin who has studied childhood, James Marten, a historian who has studied childhood, Howard Markel, a historian of medicine who has studied epidemics, Nancy Tomes, a history professor at Stony Brook University who has studied the history of disease and Samuel Preston, a demographer and co-author of the book Fatal Years: Child Mortality in Late Nineteenth-Century America were her sources.
“Better sanitation and understanding of germ theory are part of the story, but one key factor that’s transformed American childhood over the past century is the widespread adoption of vaccines.”, she confidently claims without attribution. “This public health victory has saved hundreds of millions of lives and prevented billions of cases of disease. On a list of the 10 greatest hits of medicine, nine would be vaccines.”
By habit, she genuflects to Blaming Bobby for our doubts and unhinged fears about The Needle. “That message has been getting lost lately, thanks to a rise in anti-vaccine sentiment around the US and the world, exemplified most recently by the confirmation of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. one of the country’s most prominent vaccine skeptics, as the secretary of Health and Human Services.”
Like Klein, North features diversity and equity, (inclusion only goes so far). “Poor children and children of color faced additional risks. New sanitation infrastructure like sewers, that limited the spread of disease, were installed in wealthy, white neighborhoods first, leaving poorer families vulnerable. Hundreds of thousands of Native American childrenwere sent to boarding schools, where poor sanitation led to frequent disease outbreaks and a staggering number of deaths.” (Not compared to the first waves of Old World diseases scything through 70-90% of New World natives.)
North cries out Marco Polio, Polio, Polio searching for echoes from banging on iron lungs with her type slugs. “The polio vaccine, introduced in 1955, put an end to those fears. Today, it’s one of a series of vaccinations that allow most children in wealthy countries to grow up free from the infectious diseases that sickened and killed so many of their forebears.”
I emailed her at anna.north@vox.com to inform her. Politely. Not about polio or germ theory. Start with the first mythinformation. Admired her diligence in rooting out experts and skill at swallowing their omissions without gagging, but the facts were cut and pasted from Mandatory Vaccinations = Totalitarian Inoculation.
The Lancet, a British medical journal stated bluntly in 1977, “There is no evidence that vaccination played a major role in the decline in incidence and mortality” of infectious diseases in industrialized nations. Most infectious disease deaths now are concentrated in the poorest classes and countries, but diarrhea from contaminated water is the major killer of third world infants.” (The Lancet, January 29, 1977)
Epidemiologists from Johns Hopkins reaffirmed this, “Between 1900 and 1948, the percentage of child deaths attributable to infectious diseases declined from 61.6% to 2%. Thus vaccination does not account for the impressive declines in mortality seen in the first half of the century…nearly 90% of the decline in infectious disease mortality among US children occurred before 1940, when few antibiotics or vaccine were available.”
This should become common knowledge. The first crack in the mortared vaxx myths concrete monolith. Her experts have no excuse, but True North was left holding their lies of omission by ignoring the first rule of reporting. Not 5 W’s in the lede, allege not adopt. Journalistic distancing. “Experts Say” gives cover to your propaganda. Told her she would be featured in Dozens of Doppelgangers as another case study in my Naomi Klein series.
After Joe Biden used the O word, oligarchs have been pilloried by the liberal press, exemplified by Mother Jones, where Doppelganger Tim Murphy bashed them in Ballot Barons: The Oligarch Election, ( Jan/Feb. 2025). Although Elon has taken some of the heat off Kennedy, Murphy tarred him with association. “Robert F. Kennedy Jr. whose campaign was an almost wholly owned subsidiary of Timothy Mellon, grandson of Andrew, the largest contributor to both RFK Jr. and Trump. Mellon is a Musk invert as scion of Gilded Age wealth.”
That’s when oligarchs simply had sacks of silver sent to the Senate, now they’re sneakier, but their control of government is baked in. Ida Tarbell was a real journalist then, not a doppelganger of Naomi Klein, Anna North and Tim Murphy, (an inverted doggelpanger).
“Then Kennedy chose his running mate, Nicole Shanahan because she had enough money to fund the campaign.” Which billionaire has senior debt, Mellon or Shanahan? Decidedly misogynistically, Tim dished nasty gossip on Nicole. “Musk once offered her his sperm, as part of his obsession with populating the world with his heirs”, according to the New York Times gone tabloid.
Because the score was so lopsided, Murphy admits “Democratic campaigns were also shaped by the power of ultrawealthy donors, (but not oligarchs). Soros gave $60 million to a Dem Super Pac, Bloomberg gave $50 million, Bill Gates same, " Jamie Dimon, Mark Cuban, Barry Diller, Reid Hoffman, Reed Hastings all gave millions, raising more than Trump overall. Harris was no stranger to billionaires, although none with a chainsaw.
Murphy is half right that “the billionaires aren’t going to save us. They might not even try.” They may even try to exterminate us, if we weren’t such a gullible profit center.
Most of us who are over 40 years of age had grandparents and great grandparents and great great grandparents that didn't ever get one "vaccine" their entire lives. It's amazing to me that this fact has been deleted from history and people now believe somehow we are all going to die if we don't get "vaccinated". The so-called journalists absolutely refuse to do research on the history of "vaccines" and just parrot the "safe and effective" line and talk endlessly about all of the amazing "studies" that have been done... when there are only a handful of studies. Sigh. Frustrating as hell.
Hatred is another form of Love. When we hate anybody we are actually in love with them,
otherwise we would never hate them. When we hate a person we are always thinking about them. They have not been able to to make him according to their wishes, so they hate him,
but all the time they are in love with him, as they are always thinking about that person.
