Swine Flu Rebirth March 29, 2020

“Public health” agencies mandate governmental, not individual actions to prevent disease. In the late 19^th century, they seized extra-legal authority to quarantine, seize food and water supplies, enforce mass vaccination, expanding in the 20th to regulate or ban products and practices they decree are a health risk. But they’ve never left behind their roots in battling infectious diseases.

In 1946, when the Public Health Service transferred malaria prevention from the military to civilian control, they created the Communicable Disease Center in Atlanta, Georgia, headquartered on Coca-Cola property. From the beginning the agency directors wanted full control of the nation’s public health systems, not hindered by bureaucrats in local departments. The CDC director in 1949 was given powers to deal with public health emergencies caused by biological weapons unleashed by foreign enemies.

He formed the Epidemic Intelligence Service, the CIA of the CDC. Their uniforms bore the symbol of a shoe with a hole worn in it. Chosen for their gung ho attitude, they filled key positions in public health programs, private corporations, trust fund tax exempt foundations, medical science journals and other fields.

In 1957, another Asian flu was declared the next Swine Flu of 1918. Their cries of impending pandemic deaths flew out like a murder of crows. President Eisenhower and Congress authorized a half million dollars to the CDC. They used it to beef up increased surveillance, which increased reports, feeding a false fear that this was worse than normal flu seasons.

Vaccine doses were mass produced as rapidly as possible, unfortunately not until after the short lived “epidemic” had waned. When officials cautioned about reinfection backlash, they stimulated vaccine sales. The CDC was hailed as heroic, gaining public acceptance of mass vaccination with unproven benefits. Just like polio.

In 1976, the renamed Center for Disease Control, same acronym, blew the same horn. A sure fire Swine Flu pandemic was imminent, they cried that spring. The director issued his sky is falling warnings, based on wildly hyperbolic assumptions about a few cases at Fort Dix, where one soldier died. The U.S. Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare, the mother ship of medical and health agencies, announced “a return of the 1918 flu virus that is the most virulent form of flu.”

CDC officials theorized this could be a new, even deadlier strain. They set up a War Room to monitor the predicted deaths. The upcoming apocalypse was expected to kill a million Americans. At least 80 percent of the United States population would need to be vaccinated or hospitals would be overwhelmed.

The most aggressive emergency vaccination crusade in history was demanded. President Ford went on television to call for “swine flu vaccination of every man, woman, and child in the United States.” Back then, even the World Health Organization wasn’t on board this Pandemic Panic. They haven’t missed any since.

Public “health” officials were hell bent on ramming a vaccine down America’s throat, safety tests or not. They vaccinated about 45 million Americans against a novel strain of the new swine flu virus. In the end, their pandemic declined to dance the Death Shuffle, but 600 people suffered Guillain-Barre paralysis from the rapidly developed inoculation, and 74 died. This was far more than their yearly flu shots typically cause, so they were unable to hide the damage. That scandal caused the CDC director to resign.

It “put an irreparable dent in future public health initiatives, as well as negatively influenced the public’s perception of the flu shot in this country” reporters acknowledged, long before anti-vaxxers had the internet. Even today, despite decades of propaganda across all bandwidths, free flu shots for all comers, and ubiquitous promotion , 40% of Americans still choose to opt out of that inoculation.

That same summer of ‘76, another CDC official detected a different cluster of illness with no known cause. An EIS graduate, he had plenty of assistance to pin them on some yet to be identified infectious virus, germ or pathogen. The American Legion national convention in Philadelphia provided the spark. The EIS fed the fire of Legionnaire’s Disease hysteria. This put some backbone in Congress, which had been wavering over Swine Flu funding, passing the legislation days later.

Despite their SWAT team assault, CDC couldn’t find a culprit, much less Swine Flu in the City of Brotherly Love. A congressional investigation found they ignored non-contagious or toxic causes in their viral zeal. Stung by the criticism, the CDC eventually came up with a new villain, a bacteria found in most soil and almost all plumbing water tanks, never known to sicken people before.

Another EIS recruit, Donald Francis, on loan to the WHO from the CDC that same year, was sent to Zaire to control an outbreak of Ebola Fever. Although it was later traced to one hospital using dirty needles, he exercised dictatorial authority to ban ancient tribal burial rituals and unceremoniously had the bodies burned in a common pit. Their ghosts are believed to be wandering in limbo by locals. The epidemic ended when the hospital closed, but Francis still took credit for his “singular brilliance.” *
