“Obama, on the other hand, has shown himself to be a strategic campaigner.
He was able to beat Hillary Clinton
only because he had a 50 state strategy to win both caucuses and primaries.
This distinction of tactician vs. strategist also becomes clear
when you examine the different approaches they took in the debate.
For McCain, it was important to win every argument,
to get that last condescending jab in.
In fact, I was infuriated with Obama for much of the debate
for repeating ‘I agree with John McCain,’ ‘John is absolutely right’
and not responding aggressively to McCain’s personal attacks
‘Obama is naïve, doesn’t understand etc.’
On a tactical level, McCain shone,
until you realize that, strategically, the Obama campaign had realized
that the current issue of the campaign is McCain’s temperament.
Can he be portrayed as the vicious, cranky old guy
rather than bipartisan leader he claims he is?
Secondly, the Obama campaign realized that this election
is going to be decided by Independent voters and women.
Independent voters tend not to like the personal negative attacks
and women (I hope this isn’t sexist) tend to like consensus builders.
For Obama, then, it was more important to fulfill the strategic goal
of bringing in those voting blocs rather than making his committed supporters feel
good about the verbal blows he landed. Political Rope-a-dope, you might say.”
Whether you believe Barak Obama deserved the Nobel Peace Prize, even before he had the opportunity to become a serial killer, (an apparent prerequisite for many of its winners), or was the most articulate Negro ever, most admit he was a great debater. Unlike Hillary, looking nervously over her shoulder at the lurking, snuffling Trump like an abused child, he wrestled the irascible McCain to a standstill as effortlessly as Hercules nudging the apple towards Tantalus, without losing his cool or even his breath. His performative tactics left the baby killer to impale himself on his campaign Trail of Tears. Obama was Himalayan yogic, a Shao Lin grand master skipping from junior senator to first black president, if you don’t count Saxophone Bill.
Mandatory Vaccine resistors have to learn from his strategy. Realize that the undecided, uninformed, middle of the roadkill voters are the only people that persuasion and information will have an effect on. Those who have a vested interest will not be affected by our efforts. We can’t bring the dead back to life. There aren’t that many Undecided by now, but the Uninformed are future allies, whether they’ve had boosters or not.
Don’t alienate them completely off the bat. We are a growing minority, but unless we want to stall at “fringe minority” in this critical period we need an Obama strategy. Using Barak’s tactics we can gain the first anti-vax president. Yes, I have a dream.
In any debate, argument, or casual interaction with a potential ally, no matter how idiotic and wrong their opinions are, take a breath or two before responding. Demonstrate that you’re not a kook, even if you’re a freak. Supply your facts calmly, not too many. Make sure they are accurate. One rock solid diamond point is harder to deflect.
Don’t open a second front by trying to convince a liberal snowflake that global warming is a hoax and carbon dioxide is a blessing in disguise, the election was stolen by child killing Satanists, or Ayn Rand is God. Knee jerk liberals abandoning CNN can be persuaded now. The tide is turning, but there are snags in the channel.
The largest percentage of vaccine “hesitant” or flat out refuseniks are among PhD’s, African Americans, some religious cults, health and wellness freaks and conspiracy kooks. We don’t need to convince Fellow Travelers.
In fact, if you’re an outsider to one of those groups, don’t screw things up for their own persuaders. Brothren and sistren will be reasonably suspicious of white privileged ‘splaining, even if you wear a Dashiki and flash the power fist. Their cultural heroes and paid off trusted community voices have more impact by dying unexpectedly, after proudly urging their flock to get the jab, like them. They ain’t getting the saline batches or fake plungers in the ‘hood.
Stick to messages tailored to your audience, one you are connected with. Cover up your Thor’s Hammer tattoo and furl the Stars and Bars at public protests. Don’t Tread on Me is fine. Become their trusted source, because that is an endangered species in a fragmented information society.
We prefer not to be jabbed because we don’t trust Big Pharma resonates across the political spectrum. Vaccine manufacturers gained a shield of righteousness (along with legal immunity) as public health grail knights, even though they are wholly owned and operated by Pill Pushing, Profiteering Pharma. Something’s definitely in the water to explain that. Fluoride and SSRI residues most likely.
Both Highly Educated and high school dropouts know they’ve been lied to, blindfolded, spun in a circle. They just don’t know which donkey to pin the tail on. Don’t go from kindergarten to graduate studies in conspiracy theory in one encounter. Don’t bring up Building 7, when you can mention Project 007, Merck’s scheme to add rabbit blood to their mumps vaccine in development to raise antibody levels for FDA approval. When Pfizer claims 100% protection based on antibody levels, bring up the dead rabbits, not libertarian manifestos.
That means you have to do some research, or you can read my free 500 page e-book Mandatory Vaccinations = Totalitarian Inoculations. Condensed from thousands of pages and hundreds of hours of research, with all claims cited, summarized and linked to. Don’t panic, the distilled version is only 100 pages, and can be used freely with attribution. Any subscriber who asks gets either, sent as pdf or emobi attachments. They’re worth more, but Amazon banned them. I didn’t win the Nobel Peach Prize, so that’s the next best honor.
