Freakishly close doppelangers of Naomi Klein were on one NPR show, “investigative journalism” into What RFK jr Doesn’t get about Autism. David Remnick, host of the New Yorker Radio Hour, and Dr. Alycia Halladay, chief science officer of the Autism Science Foundation, spoke as one blended gender voice.
Eerily, both have autistic children like Klein, although her son is “neurodiverse”, while Remnick’s 25 yo daughter is “profoundly” disabled. He ”brings to the table” that she creates “great drama in the lives of everyone around her- most of all for her.” Only one of Halladay’s twin girls has autism- but “she’s very, very smart.” Evaluated at three, diagnosed autistic in social cues, modulating tone and volume of voice. Sounds like 3 years old.
The intro pretty much covers their conversation. “When Donald Trump made an alliance with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., he brought vaccine skepticism and the debunked link between vaccines and autism into the center of the MAGA agenda. Though the scientific establishment has long disproven that link, as many as one in four Americans today believe that vaccines may cause autism.”
Wow, we have developed a disorganized community larger than any organized religion in the country. Against all odds, a tiny fringe only five years ago, smaller than Moon Landing Hoaxers, 9/11 Truthers, even Flat Earthers, (maybe not that fringe), has become a powerhouse driving MAHA out of the closet into the cabinet, carrying MAGA with it.
No transcript provided, so typed their narrative from the taped show. Numerous rewinds, needing tedious attention to gag reflex. Their tone of voice doesn’t transcribe, but evinced quiet outrage about Bobby’s actions, and a concerned empathy for parents of autistic kids searching for answers.
They assured listeners, there are none offered by “real science”, while only pseudoscientific, huckster quackery promises cures and remedies. “More research is needed” is their mantra, so they were shocked, shocked because “Kennedy, now the Secretary of Health and Human Services, promised that ‘his agency would uncover the cause of autism’—the subject of decades of research—‘once and for all’ by the fall.”
Remnick doubted RFK jr could unearth “some sort of data in 10 weeks”, because “normally studies take 8 years.” Dr. Halladay admitted using “existing data from data bases on vaccination- collected over the years, could find something- we don’t know- everything has already been looked at!” Science marches on overlooked evidence, like pontoon bridges to nowhere.
The essential theme of their “investigation” is emphasized repeatedly by Remnick. The “vaccine theory has been discredited- again, thoroughly discredited by scientists.” The fact that vaccines cause many cases of autism, witnessed by parents observant reporting shortly after their well baby visits is gaslit, as it was when their odyssey began.
Dr. Halladay explained “vaccines are an easy target- bring your baby in, well child visit, needle inject substance, baby starts crying- simple solution, baby crying bad.” Inconsolable wailing following inoculations is common, high fevers and seizures not uncommon. None are good, more are worse for brain dysfunction.
Dr. Halladay has been “studying autism for a very long time.” She “actually came from a toxicology background” to study whether vaccines cause autism in 1999, yet remains ignorant of basic facts. She’s still claiming autism is “highly genetic”, despite her personal twin study.
This is two decades after Francis S. Collins, Director of the National Human Genome Research Institute at National Institute of Health, testified to a congressional committee in 2006, that “recent changes in chronic diseases like diabetes, asthma, obesity or autism cannot be due to genetic changes; they must be due to changes in the environment, including diet.” * He didn’t mention vaccines, and was made director of the NIH.
Halladay then retreats to not “one thing causes all of it- not one gene, one environmental factor. There are thousands of genes, certain risks, environmental risks, influenced by genetics and the environment very broadly, contextual, neighborhood you live in— drugs you take, when I say environment I want to be very clear I am not talking about vaccines, could be the air you breathe, or water you drink but it doesn’t have to be.”
The quadrillion combinations of genes and environmental factors, precludes discovering causes, especially if inoculations are excluded from the equation. Dr. Collins pledged then to “invest in innovative new technologies to measure environmental toxins, dietary intake and physical activity, and to determine an individual’s biological response to those influences, using new tools of genomics, proteomics and metabolomics.”
Still no answers after two decades in the lab, but Dr. Halladay has determined damaged synapses are in play. Her ASF funded research is on brain cells connection with “genetic-and environment risks- not talking about vaccines necessarily”, (because that is verboten). She’s ploddingly determining the “complex interaction of chemicals and signals, the way they connect are altered in different ways in different people-what we know to be the core of autism is differences in the brain.”
You can’t find what you won’t look for. Alison Singer, former Autism Speaks CEO and board member, jumped ship from the richest autism organization in the world, over funding more vaccine safety research to start Autism Science Foundation. “Every dollar spent looking where we know the answer isn’t is one less dollar we have to spend where we might find new answers. The fact is that vaccines save lives, they don’t cause autism.”
Their vision statement is that autism is strongly genetic and vaccines do not cause autism. Dr. Paul Offit , a founding board member, donates all royalties from his books Deadly Choices and Autism’s False Prophets to ASF.
“ASF promotes the vaccine industry’s agenda while posing as an autism charity. The red flag is that it expressly excludes research from being funded that examines a vaccine-autism link. What could be more anti-science than to exclude a line of scientific inquiry? "
